Varese, Chief town of Province of Lombardy, is placed on seven hills to approximately 400 meters of height above sea level, enjoying a characteristic position at the feet of its Sacro Monte and on the sides of the homonymous Lake.

It is an eclectic territory, that it has lived the events of various cultures, whose traditions, cultures and customs have interlaced since Prehistory, period which goes back to the first traces of an inhabited settlement.
